Sandra L. Swain, 62, of Plymouth, passed away at her home with her loving family by her side, after a lengthy illness on Saturday, September 5, 2015. Sandra was born in Portsmouth, NH on September 28, 1952; she was the daughter of Hector and Florence (Peckham) Pontbriand. She was raised in New Hampshire and Maine, graduating from the Belmont High School. Her working career included over 20 years with the Wilson Tire Co., in Plymouth; she retired in 2005 due to her deteriorating health. Sandra was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and cherished her grandchildren. In her healthier years she enjoyed four-wheeling, kayaking, outdoor activities, and gardening. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents. Sandra shared forty-three wonderful years of marriage with her husband Malcolm W. “Butch” Swain, Jr., of Plymouth; she is also survived by her two daughters, Tricia Hurd and her husband Jason, of Winthrop, ME, and Cristy Wisell and her husband William, of Shelburne, VT; three grandchildren, Cameron Hurd, Ryenn and Roen Wisell; three sisters, Rachel Knight, of Lebanon, ME, Debbie O’Neil, of Deerfield, NH, and Brenda Paquette, of Belmont, NH; several nieces, nephews, and many additional extended family members.
