Ruth H. O’Haire, 81, of Center Harbor, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015 after a courageous battle with COPD. Born on June 18, 1934, in Holderness, NH, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Ethelyne (Guyotte) Howe. Ruth was raised in Holderness and attended local schools. In 1953 she married her husband Robert, and together they relocated to Center Harbor to start their family. Ruth earned her Real Estate License and worked in Realty throughout the years. She was an active Girl Scout Troop Leader for many years, and she was a dedicated member of the Center Harbor Women’s Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 33, in Meredith. Her pastimes include BINGO, sewing, and cooking. While active in the Women’s Club she was always baking and sharing, she was especially good at baking breads which she shared with friends and neighbors, and would sell loaves to passersby from her driveway every now and then. She will be lovingly remembered by her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed. Ruth is predeceased by her beloved husband of 20 years, Robert E. O’Haire, in 1973; her sisters, Mabel Sargent and Nancy Devino; her brother, Charles S.P. Howe. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Weeks, of Meredith, and Wilma O’Haire, of Center Harbor; three grandchildren, Brian, Kristy, and Greg; three great-grandchildren, Jayda, Aubrey, and Carter; several nieces and nephews. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
