Thomas W. Roy, (83) passed away at the New Hampshire Veterans Home while peacefully surrounded by his family at the time of his comfortable and calm departure. Born in Lebanon NH April 28, 1931 Lived in Plymouth for his life and was a graduate of Plymouth High School 1949. He was the son of his Foster parents Earl and Erma (Yates) Colburn of Plymouth, N.H. Survived By his two daughters; Jeannie DeGrace of Center Harbor NH, Tamara Estes of Orford NH and his son, Thomas Roy of Francestown N.H. He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren; James Eastman of Hartford, VT, Ami Moore of Lebanon NH, Sarah Perkins of Bristol NH, Timothy Perkins of Meredith NH, Lisa Tremblay of Campton NH, David DeGrace of Center Harbor NH, and leaves behind 6 Great Grand Children and two very special friends; Richard Havlock of Holderness, N.H. and Jack Schrader of Chilocothe, Ohio. He was predeceased by his wife Carole ( Moody ) Roy, June 23 2006. His Dogs will be buried with him as he wished. He owned and operated Tom Roy and Son Logging and Trucking nicknamed “Tom Roy and Dog” logging for over 50 yrs and was his true loves. He was a member of the Seabees with an award of the national defense service medal (he was a carpenter in the Navy) honorably departed the Navy on January 9th 1954 after his 4 yr tenure. He was a lifelong member of the Plymouth Elks Club. Tom loved spending time with his dogs, as well as playing cribbage and shooting horseshoes with family and friends He enjoyed Watching sports events, vacationing in Maine by the ocean, traveling and spending time with his family. tom was well known for being a “hell of a softball hitter” and played for Farina & Sons softball team in the late 60’s. He was a legend around Plymouth; everyone knew Tom and he loved just being a people person. he was extremely hard working honest trusting and loyal with a little ole school in a good way he was one of Plymouth’s original characters for sure !!!. A devoted father that was and will be hard to beat! He will be dearly missed.
