Peter Jensen

Peter Hitchcock Jensen, 62, of Moultonborough, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Lakes Region General Hospital, in Laconia. Born on February 20, 1951, in Bronxville, NY, he was the son of Bent and Melvina (Hitchcock) Jensen. Peter lived in various towns throughout the country, but spent his adolescent years in Lake Forest, Illinois, graduating from the Lake Forest High School. Peter was a successful businessman and held various Director positions at many companies leading their Information Technology and Telecommunication departments. He had a solid work ethic based on truth and always treated people justly. He earned Bachelor’s degrees in Statistics and Computer Science from Rutgers University. Peter’s passions in life were his children and music. In his early 20’s you could hear him play on stage at various venues throughout Chicago and Madison, WI. More recently he could be found enjoying live music at the Stone Mountain Arts Center, in Brownfield, ME. He had a deep sense of community. After settling in Moultonborough he quickly took action to be involved in town government and served: as the Chair of the Moultonborough Milfoil Committee, Vice Chair of the Planning Board and as an appointed member on the Conservation Commission and Capital Improvements Program Committee, he chaired the Web Committee that recommended the town’s new website, he served on the town’s Master Plan subcommittee for Land Use and Economic Development, Master Plan School Committee and the Municipal Needs Committee. He also contributed as a member of several other service groups in the town of Moultonborough. Peter was currently running for Town Selectman. Peter is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Beadle, of Moultonborough; children, Emily Jensen Caruso and husband Matt, Eric Jensen and wife Jessica; four grandchildren, Soren, Declan, Andrew, and Isabella; brother, Scott Jensen; sister, Lisa Jensen and partner Eileen Kassower; nephew, Chris Jensen, nieces, Kate Jensen, and Meredith Wroblewski and husband Colin; grand niece, Hazel Wroblewski. Donations may be made in Peter’s memory to the Stone Mountain Arts Center, in Brownfield, ME. More information will be provided soon.
