Janette Saliba passed away peacefully April 22. She was born in Lawrence, Ma. On Feb 24, 1917. The youngest of three children, she was full of life and adventure, known to just as quickly climb a tree or two with her brothers or play with her beloved dolls with her cousins. She is survived by daughters Diane DiSalvo and her husband Arthur of Flemming Island, Fl., Elaine Saliba of Chicago Il., Cynthia Eames and her husband Robert of St. James City, Fl. and her granddaughter Tara DiSalvo of Thornton, NH. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Moses Saliba. Janette was the proprietor of the Style Center in Plymouth, NH for 42 years before selling it to daughter Cynthia. She was an active member of the community, the Church of the Holy Spirit, and donated her time to a variety of organizations. She had a heart of gold and was the first to step up and help those in need. Janette was a woman who was full of compassion, strength, love and humor who always had a smile and kind word for everyone she met and lived by the motto “It is better to give than to receive” and give she did! whether it was to a family who lost their possessions in a fire or to a student to whom she extended credit at the store and usually was paid in full just because they didn’t want to disappoint her. She loved company and the more the merrier. There was always a table full of food to share with whoever stopped by. She thought nothing of feeding 15 or more friends or relatives on a Sunday afternoon. It was like a league of nations. Very happy times. She loved the holidays and spending time with her family. She had all the trimmings and decorations for every holiday. She loved to travel and her bags were always packed and ready to go somewhere. She went on business trips but especially enjoyed cruising during her retirement of which she spent 30 years in West Palm Beach, Fl, before moving to St James City, Fl where she could live closer to family. Casinos and theater were among her favorite entertainment. She especially loved musicals and would enjoy local theaters as much as Broadway shows. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. We can all learn from her in that she always kept her sense of humor, tried to find the good in people and never mistreated a soul. Rest in peace, Janette.
