Nina A. Hawkins, 95, formerly of Winona Road, New Hampton, died January 26, 2015, at Forestview Manor, Meredith, with her son by her side, after a period of declining health. Born in New Hampton, NH on December 9, 1919, Nina was the daughter of Fred and Ada (Sanborn) Avery. Nina grew up in New Hampton and graduated from Ashland High School, class of 1938. She has been a resident of New Hampton of most all her life. Nina worked from home for many years making custom draperies for the former Lougee and Robinson Store in Laconia. Nina enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, doing yard work and living on Lake Winona. She loved animals, and they loved her. She enjoyed telling her grandchildren stories of her days growing up and how she rode a horse to school every day. Nina married Roger F. Hawkins Sr. on July 17, 1940 at the family farm on Winona Road and she was predeceased by him in June of 2002, after sixty-two years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Ann Hawkins Huot, who did in March of 2002, her brothers, Henry, Raymond, Bernard and Richard and her sister Marion. Nina is survived by her son, Roger F. Hawkins Jr. and his wife Joanne of Meredith, NH, grandchildren, Michelle Martin and her husband John of Center Sandwich, NH, Heidi Ann Cammilleri and her husband Travis of Manchester, NH, Denise Crane and her husband Eric of Lancaster, NH, Matthew Huot and his wife Sarah Beth of Olympia, WA, 10 Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
