Christina Elizabeth Dietz, 101, formerly of Moultonborough, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Golden View Health Care Center, in Meredith, after a lengthy illness. Born in Newark, NJ on Friday, September 27, 1912, she was the daughter of Frank and Esther Labadics. Christina was raised in Newark, attending local schools. In 1959 she moved with her family to Center Conway, NH, where she and her husband Howard owned and operated the Dietz Motel, in C. Conway for many years. They retired together to Moultonborough where she resided for thirty-five years. Christina was a very active, dedicated, and proud member of the 1st Baptist Church, of Meredith. Her greatest joy in life was singing; she was a member of the church’s choir, and the “Kids Club”, where she was involved with many musical activities with the children until she was 85 years old. She also served as a deaconess. She was an avid bowler for many years, participating in many leagues with her friends, until her early 90’s when she could not continue due to her deteriorating health. Christina is predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard Dietz, in 1983. She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Peavey, of Bridgton, ME, June Mansfield and husband Robert, of Enfield, and Ruth Whitaker and husband Harold, of Center Conway; six grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Christina is also survived by many good friends at the 1st Baptist Church of Meredith.
