Larry Elwin Thompson, 58, of Quincy Rd., Rumney, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Concord Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born on July 17, 1954, in Plymouth, NH, he was the son of the late Robert A. Thompson and Phoebe (Littlefield) Thompson-Thorne. Larry was a life-long resident of Rumney and was raised on a small farm. He attended the Rumney Russell School and Plymouth High School. Larry worked for the Rochester Shoe Tree, Co., in Ashland for 27 years. He enjoyed bike riding, feeding and watching wild birds, camping and outdoors activities, and he had a great love of gardening. Larry is predeceased by his brother, Ernest R. Thompson. He is survived by his three brothers, Allen Thompson, of Rumney, Lee Thompson and wife June, of Laconia, Robert Thompson and wife Majel, of Rumney; three sisters, Roberta Laauwe and significant other Robert Heath, of Ctr. Harbor, Darlene Thompson, of Plymouth, Rhoda Knight, of Campton; sister-in-law, Marilyn Thompson, of Reedsville, NC; many nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Larry’s memory may be made to various programs at the Concord Hospital in generosity for their compassionate care throughout the years.
